Bellevigne en layon

Bellevigne-en-Layon is a commune in the Maine-et-Loire department, in the Anjou region, formed in 2016 through the merger of several villages including Rablay-sur-Layon, Beaulieu-sur-Layon, Champ-sur-Layon, Faveraye-Mâchelles, Faye-d'Anjou and Thouarcé. The area lies at the heart of the Layon vineyard, renowned for its sweet white wines. The prestigious Bonnezeaux and Quarts de Chaume appellations, both located within the commune, reflect a long-standing winemaking tradition. The rolling countryside, crossed by the Layon river, offers a typically rural Anjou setting, ideal for walking or cycling among vineyards and hillsides. Several wine estates and cellars offer tours and tastings, making wine tourism a key activity in the area.
