Ingrandes-le-Fresne-sur-Loire is a commune in the Maine-et-Loire department, created in 2016 through the merger of Ingrandes-sur-Loire and Le Fresne-sur-Loire. Set on the banks of the Loire, right on the border with Loire-Atlantique, it lies within the Loire Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape. The village of Ingrandes retains traces of its former life as a busy river port, with quaysides and bargemen's houses recalling the days of Loire trade, particularly linked to salt and river traffic between Anjou and Brittany.
