Brissac loire aubance

Brissac-Loire-Aubance is a town in the Maine-et-Loire department, in the Anjou region, at the heart of the Loire Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is best known for the Château de Brissac, often described as the tallest château in France with its seven storeys, blending medieval and Renaissance architecture. Still inhabited by the Brissac family, the château is open to visitors and also offers guest rooms alongside a vineyard estate producing wines under the Anjou and Coteaux de l'Aubance appellations. The town, formed from the merger of several villages including Brissac-Quincé, covers a rural area crossed by the Aubance river, providing a peaceful countryside setting ideal for walks and exploring the Anjou vineyards. The region enjoys the mild, temperate climate typical of the Loire Valley. Its surroundings make it easy to reach Angers, around twenty kilometres away, as well as other Loire Valley châteaux. Wine enthusiasts can visit local cellars and estates, while walks along the Aubance and through the surrounding countryside round off a tourist offering centred on heritage, nature and wine tourism.
