Etivey

Etivey is a small rural village in the Yonne department, in Burgundy, just a few kilometres from Noyers-sur-Serein, one of the officially listed 'most beautiful villages of France'. The surrounding countryside is typical of the Puisaye and Tonnerrois areas, with rolling hills, woodland, meadows and arable fields crossed by quiet country lanes. Its location near the Serein valley makes it easy to reach well-known sites such as Chablis, renowned for its vineyards and wine cellars, as well as Tonnerre with its striking Fosse Dionne spring. The area offers a peaceful setting well suited to walking, cycling and discovering traditional Burgundian rural heritage, including stone-built villages, Romanesque churches and old farmhouses. The climate is temperate continental, with mild summers and cooler winters, ideal for relaxed, nature-based tourism. Etivey therefore serves as a calm base from which to explore inland Burgundy, away from urban bustle, while remaining conveniently placed near road links to Auxerre and Troyes.
