Tierce

Tiercé is a village in the Maine-et-Loire department, in the Pays de la Loire region, located around twenty kilometres north of Angers. The village is crossed by the River Sarthe, which borders the area and provides a green setting well suited to walking and fishing. Tiercé is locally known for its racecourse, which hosts horse racing meetings and is of interest to those keen on equestrian pursuits. The village retains a typically rural character, with farmland, country lanes and a local parish church. Its proximity to Angers gives easy access to the historic heritage of the prefecture, including its castle and cathedral, as well as the cultural and shopping amenities of a larger city. The surrounding countryside, part of the Anjou vineyard region, offers the chance to discover Anjou wines and Loire Valley produce. The temperate oceanic climate of the Loire Valley makes for a pleasant stay for much of the year, with mild summers and gentle winters.
