Saint-Thibault is a small village in the Côte-d'Or department, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, close to Châtillon-sur-Seine in the area known as Châtillonnais. The village is particularly noted for its former collegiate church, Saint-Thibault, a Gothic building whose 13th-century carved portal is regarded as a remarkable example of Burgundian Gothic art and is listed as a historic monument. The surrounding landscape is typical of this part of the Côte-d'Or, featuring wooded valleys, meadows and the nearby Châtillonnais plateau, an area well suited to walking and exploring nature. The region is also known for being close to the source of the River Seine, a site of both natural and historical interest.
