Mainvilliers

Mainvilliers is a town in the Eure-et-Loir department, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, located right on the outskirts of Chartres. This proximity makes it a convenient base for visiting Chartres Cathedral, a Gothic masterpiece and UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the historic centre of Chartres, known for its picturesque lanes and timber-framed houses. Mainvilliers itself is mainly residential, with shopping areas and a few green spaces suited to leisurely walks. Eure-et-Loir, a rural department crossed by the Eure valley, offers a typical countryside setting within the Beauce region, well known for its vast cereal-growing plains.
