Marolles les buis

Marolles-les-Buis is a small rural village in the Perche region, in the Eure-et-Loir department, close to Nogent-le-Rotrou. This area, spanning the borders of Eure-et-Loir, Orne and Sarthe, is known for its rolling hedgerow countryside, woodlands and traditional buildings made from russet-coloured sandstone, a stone typical of the region. Perche is also renowned for its native horse breed, the Percheron draught horse, raised on numerous studs in the surrounding countryside. Local life centres on farming and scattered hamlets, offering a peaceful, green setting ideal for countryside stays. The surrounding area is well suited to walking and horse-riding, with manor houses and rural churches typical of the Perche region to discover, along with local produce markets in nearby towns such as Nogent-le-Rotrou or La Loupe. The climate is temperate oceanic, with mild summers and cool winters. Marolles-les-Buis therefore makes a quiet base from which to explore the Perche Regional Nature Park, valued for its unspoilt natural heritage and rural authenticity.
