Dampierre sur avre

Dampierre-sur-Avre is a small rural village in the Eure-et-Loir department, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, close to the border with Normandy. The village is crossed by the River Avre, which forms a natural boundary between the two regions and provides a green setting ideal for walks. The surrounding countryside is typical of the Eure-et-Loir area, featuring hedgerow farmland, cultivated fields and small woodlands. The village lies close to Verneuil-sur-Avre and Nonancourt, two Norman market towns offering shops and local services, as well as Dreux, a larger town roughly twenty minutes away by car. This makes it a good base for a peaceful stay away from urban bustle, in an authentic countryside setting. The surrounding area is well suited to outdoor pursuits such as walking, cycling and fishing along the Avre. The climate is a modified oceanic type, with mild summers and moderate winters, typical of the northern Paris Basin.
