Saumeray

Saumeray is a small village in the Eure-et-Loir department, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, located a few kilometres south of Châteaudun. The village sits within a typically rural landscape at the meeting point of the Beauce plain and the gentler hills of the Perche area, crossed by the Loir river. This location makes it a convenient base for exploring the local heritage, particularly the town of Châteaudun with its medieval and Renaissance castle overlooking the Loir valley, as well as the many charming villages nearby. The surrounding countryside is well suited to outdoor pursuits such as walking, cycling and exploring rural heritage, with its farms, village churches and small waterways. The climate is temperate oceanic, with mild-to-warm summers and cool winters, typical of central France.
