Nogaro

Nogaro is a small town in the Gers department, in the Occitanie region of south-west France, set at the heart of Armagnac country between Auch and Mont-de-Marsan. It is best known for its motor racing venue, the Circuit Paul-Armagnac, which has hosted national and international car and motorcycle races for several decades. The town also has a notable religious heritage, with the Romanesque Collegiate Church of Saint-Nicolas housing a venerated Black Christ, evidence of the site's long history. Nogaro lies within a wine-growing region renowned for producing Armagnac, the traditional brandy of south-western France, as well as for Gascon cuisine, including foie gras, duck and other regional specialities. The town sits on the Midour river, surrounded by the typical rural landscape of the Gers, ideal for countryside walks and visits to nearby stone-and-brick villages. A weekly market brings life to the town centre, offering local produce.
