Duran

Duran is a small village in the Gers department, in the Occitanie region of southern France, located just a few kilometres north of Auch, the departmental capital. The village lies within a typically Gascon landscape of rolling countryside, cereal fields and vineyards, reflecting the area's strong agricultural heritage. The climate is mild and oceanic with southern influences, bringing warm summers and relatively gentle winters, well suited to countryside breaks. The nearby town of Auch is home to Sainte-Marie Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognised as part of the Way of St James pilgrimage routes, along with its charming old town and narrow streets. The Gers region is also well known for its gastronomy, particularly foie gras, Armagnac brandy and Floc de Gascogne, all of which can be found at local markets and from regional producers.
