Pavie

Pavie is a village in the Gers department, in the Occitanie region of southwestern France, located a few kilometres east of Auch, the department's county town. Set along the Gers river, it enjoys a typically rural Gascon setting of gentle hills, farmland valleys and country lanes well suited to walking and cycling. The climate is oceanic with southern influences, bringing warm, dry summers and mild winters, making it a pleasant base during the warmer months. Its proximity to Auch provides easy access to the city's heritage, including its cathedral, recognised by UNESCO as part of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela, as well as local shops and markets. The Gers region is well known for its gastronomy, particularly foie gras, Armagnac brandy and farm produce, widely available at regional markets. Pavie therefore offers a quiet, low-key base from which to explore the Gers countryside, combining architectural heritage, rolling landscapes and traditional Gascon lifestyle, away from the busier coastal tourist areas.
