Ste marie

Sainte-Marie is a small village in the Gers department, in the Occitanie region of south-western France. This rural area is characterised by the rolling countryside typical of Gascony, with fields of sunflowers and cereal crops alongside traditional farmhouses. The village lies close to Gimont, a town known for its foie gras market and production, one of the Gers' signature specialities alongside Armagnac brandy and duck breast. The region offers a peaceful, green setting well suited to countryside stays, walking and exploring Gascon heritage, including medieval bastide towns and rural churches scattered throughout the department. The mild, sunny climate for much of the year makes it ideal for outdoor pursuits such as cycling or strolls along the local waterways. Sainte-Marie makes a convenient base for discovering the Gers, with its local gastronomy, farmers' markets and authentic villages, while remaining within reasonable reach of both Toulouse and Auch, the departmental capital.
