Jegun

Jegun is a small Gascon village in the Gers department of Occitanie, some fifteen kilometres north of Auch. Laid out along the plan of a former bastide town, it retains a central covered market hall, narrow lanes and timber-framed houses typical of the region. The surrounding countryside, with its gentle hills, vineyards and maize fields, is characteristic of rural Gascony. The area lies close to the Armagnac wine-growing region, renowned for its brandy, and local cuisine features foie gras, duck breast and other South-Western French specialities. Golf enthusiasts will find a well-regarded course in Jegun, set within pleasant green surroundings. The village makes a peaceful base for exploring the neighbouring bastide towns and villages of the Gers, as well as Auch itself, with its listed cathedral.
