Valence sur baise

Valence-sur-Baïse is a bastide town in the Gers département, founded in the 13th century on the banks of the River Baïse, right in the heart of Armagnac country. The village retains the classic layout of south-western bastides, arranged around a central square with its arcades and fortified church. Nearby stands the Cistercian Abbey of Flaran, one of the best-preserved religious monuments in the Gers, now open to visitors and hosting exhibitions and cultural events.
