Staffelfelden

Staffelfelden is a village in the Haut-Rhin department of Alsace, around ten kilometres north of Mulhouse in the Grand Est region. The village lies within the former Alsace potash mining basin, whose industrial activity shaped the area's history until the mines closed at the end of the twentieth century. The surrounding landscape reflects this heritage, combining farmland with reclaimed natural spaces from the region's mining past. Staffelfelden sits close to Ungersheim, home to the Écomusée d'Alsace, one of France's largest open-air museums dedicated to traditional Alsatian rural life, as well as the Parc du Petit Prince, a family-friendly theme park with an aviation theme.
