Goldbach altenbach

Goldbach-Altenbach is a small village in the Haut-Rhin department of Alsace, tucked at the foot of the Vosges mountains, close to Guebwiller. Made up of two hamlets, the village lies within a hilly landscape of forests, meadows and streams, typical of the Vosges foothills. Its unspoilt natural surroundings make it a popular starting point for hiking and exploring the surrounding Alsace vineyards, particularly around the Grand Ballon and Petit Ballon peaks, both well-known summits of the Vosges range. The wider region is also renowned for the Alsace Wine Route, its flower-decked villages and traditional half-timbered architecture.
