Wickerschwihr

Wickerschwihr is a small village in the Haut-Rhin department of Alsace, set within the flat plains of the Ried region, just a few kilometres south-east of Colmar. This rural setting, crossed by watercourses typical of the Grand Ried area, offers a peaceful environment ideal for walks and exploring the Alsatian countryside. Its proximity to Colmar provides easy access to shops, tourist attractions and the cultural life of this well-known town, famed for its historic centre and canals. The village itself retains a distinctly rural character, with traditional houses and ongoing agricultural activity, particularly the cultivation of maize and hops, both common in this part of Alsace. The wider region is also renowned for its cuisine, with specialities such as choucroute, kougelhopf and Alsatian white wines readily available in nearby towns and villages.
