Bischwihr

Bischwihr is a village in the Haut-Rhin department of Alsace, located a few kilometres north of Colmar within the agricultural plain bordering the Alsace vineyards. Its location makes it a convenient base for exploring the Alsace Wine Route and neighbouring wine villages such as Kaysersberg, Kientzheim and Ammerschwihr, known for their half-timbered houses and wine-tasting cellars. Colmar itself, with its old town, the Little Venice district and its Christmas market, is around a ten-minute drive away, offering easy access to the city's architectural and cultural heritage while staying in a quieter, rural setting. The surrounding countryside of fields and orchards is well suited to walking and cycling, particularly along routes linking the vineyard villages. The semi-continental climate of the Alsace plain brings warm summers and fairly cold winters, with sunshine levels above the national average thanks to the sheltering effect of the Vosges mountains.
