Guewenheim

Guewenheim is a small village in the Haut-Rhin département, located in Alsace within the Doller valley, between Thann and Masevaux. This rural setting, bordered by the river and surrounded by wooded hills at the foot of the Vosges mountains, offers a peaceful environment well suited to nature-based stays. The village is known as a stop on the Doller Valley heritage railway, a vintage train line connecting several villages along the valley, a popular family activity during the summer months. The area is also ideal for walking and cycling, with routes linking the valley villages up towards nearby Vosges summits. Those interested in Alsatian heritage can easily reach Thann, noted for its Gothic collegiate church, or Masevaux, a former abbey town. The nearby Ballon d'Alsace and the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park make for excellent countryside excursions.
