Sausheim

Sausheim is a town in the Haut-Rhin department of Alsace, located a few kilometres north-east of Mulhouse. The village is notably home to a significant automotive industrial site, the Stellantis plant (formerly Peugeot-PSA), one of the main employers in the Mulhouse area. Nearby, Ile Napoléon offers a popular leisure area with a lake, sports facilities and swimming spots in summer. Sausheim also benefits from its proximity to the Rhône-Rhine canal, ideal for walking or cycling along the towpaths. The town retains a residential character, with a few local shops and a parish church. Its convenient location provides easy access to Mulhouse's cultural attractions, such as the Cité de l'Automobile and the Cité du Train, two nationally renowned museums dedicated to industrial heritage. The semi-continental climate of the Alsace plain brings warm summers and cooler winters, typical of the region. Sausheim thus serves as a practical base for exploring the industrial and natural heritage of the Sundgau area and the wider Haut-Rhin department.
