Storckensohn

Storckensohn is a small village in the Haut-Rhin department, tucked away in the Thur valley at the heart of the Vosges mountains in Alsace. Located close to villages such as Fellering, Kruth and Oderen, it enjoys an unspoilt natural setting, surrounded by forests and the rolling terrain typical of the Alsatian Vosges. Its position at the bottom of the valley makes it a convenient base for walking and hiking, with relatively easy access to summits such as the Grand Ballon or the Markstein, as well as to several Vosges lakes. In winter, nearby ski resorts in the Thur valley, including the Markstein, are reachable by car for both downhill and cross-country skiing. The village retains a quiet, rural character, with traditional Alsatian-style houses. The wider region is also known for its regional cuisine, including tarte flambée, choucroute and the wines produced further east along the Alsace wine route. Storckensohn therefore offers a peaceful base from which to explore the Vosges countryside, combining outdoor activities with the chance to discover the surrounding Alsatian cultural heritage.
