Steinbrunn le haut

Steinbrunn-le-Haut is a village in the Haut-Rhin department of Alsace, located a few kilometres south of Mulhouse. It sits on the edge of the Sundgau area, a region known for its ponds and woodland, popular for walking and fishing. The village offers a peaceful, rural setting while remaining close to the amenities of Mulhouse, home to notable cultural attractions such as the Cité de l'Automobile and the Cité du Train. Thanks to its position near the borders of France, Switzerland and Germany, Steinbrunn-le-Haut makes a convenient base for cross-border excursions, including trips to Basel, around 30 kilometres away. EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg is also easily reached from the village. The climate is continental, with warm summers and cool winters typical of the Alsace plain. The surrounding countryside provides opportunities for hiking and cycling, particularly along the network of paths linking the villages of the Sundgau. The wider region retains a strong Alsatian character, reflected in the traditional half-timbered architecture found in many neighbouring villages.
