Aubure

Aubure is a village in the Haut-Rhin department, nestled in the Vosges mountains at an altitude of around 800 metres, not far from Ribeauvillé and Colmar. Surrounded by extensive fir forests, the village is known for its Christmas tree production, a traditional activity in the area. Aubure also has a small ski area suited to families, offering both alpine and cross-country skiing trails, making it a popular destination in winter. In warmer months, the village and its surroundings provide plenty of opportunities for walking and hiking through the woods and along the Vosges ridges, with views stretching across the Alsace plain and, at times, as far as the Black Forest. The region is also well known for its Alsatian vineyards lower down in the valley, along with picturesque nearby villages such as Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr. The peace and fresh mountain air of the Vosges appeal to nature lovers looking to escape the busier tourist spots while remaining close to the iconic sights of Alsace's wine country.
