Fay de bretagne

Fay-de-Bretagne is a village in the Loire-Atlantique department, roughly twenty miles north-west of Nantes, on the edge of the Pays de la Mée area and not far from the Nantes-Brest canal. The village retains a distinctly rural character typical of this part of historic Brittany, with its stone-built houses and parish church. The Provostière pond, set up for fishing and walking, is a locally valued spot for waterside strolls. The nearby Gâvre forest also offers opportunities for walking, horse riding and cycling amid woodland that is fairly extensive for the region. The temperate oceanic climate, with mild winters and moderately warm summers, supports outdoor activities for much of the year. The village is within relatively easy reach of the Atlantic coast, under an hour's drive away, making it a workable base for exploring both the Nantes countryside and the seaside. The overall atmosphere is quiet, suited to a relaxed stay away from urban bustle, while still remaining close enough to Nantes for amenities and cultural visits.
