Saint-Malo-de-Guersac is a village in the Loire-Atlantique department, nestled within the Brière Regional Nature Park, between Saint-Nazaire and Guérande. This landscape of marshes and canals, shaped by ancient peat bogs, offers an unspoilt natural setting ideal for observing local wildlife and plant life. Traditional Brière cottages, recognisable by their thatched roofs, dot the countryside and reflect a well-preserved rural heritage. Punting along the canals in a traditional flat-bottomed boat, known as a chaland, allows visitors to explore the waterways and small islands of the Grande Brière Mottière, one of France's largest wetlands.
