Le pellerin

Le Pellerin is a town in the Pays de Retz area of Loire-Atlantique, located on the northern bank of the Loire, around fifteen kilometres downstream from Nantes. The town benefits from its riverside position, with a road bridge providing access to the southern bank towards Cordemais and Frossay, as well as a railway station on the Nantes–Saint-Nazaire line, making it easy to reach both the Nantes metropolitan area and the Atlantic coast. The surrounding landscape features marshes and wetlands typical of the Loire estuary, ideal for walking and birdwatching. The town retains a semi-rural character, with farmland and a few river-related activities, while also lying close to the port and industrial areas typical of this part of the estuary. Le Pellerin makes a convenient base for exploring both Nantes, with its museums and heritage sites, and the more natural landscapes of the Pays de Retz and the Brière area, while remaining within reasonable reach of the Atlantic coast beaches.
