Basse goulaine

Basse-Goulaine is a town in the Loire-Atlantique department, a few kilometres south-east of Nantes on the right bank of the Loire. The village lies within the Nantes vineyard area, well known for producing Muscadet wine, and offers a green, residential setting between vine-covered slopes and the riverbanks. The town is crossed by the Loire à Vélo cycle route, popular for rides along the river and for taking in the surrounding Loire Valley scenery. Its close proximity to Nantes makes it a convenient base for visiting the city, with its museums, the Château des Ducs de Bretagne and its historic centre, while still enjoying a quieter setting. The oceanic climate brings mild summers and temperate winters, suiting outdoor activities for much of the year. Basse-Goulaine remains a low-key destination, better suited to a relaxed stay on the edge of the city than to a busy tourist scene, though it makes a pleasant starting point for exploring the Nantes vineyards and the wider Loire-Atlantique region.
