St julien de concelles

Saint-Julien-de-Concelles is a village in the Loire-Atlantique department, set within the Nantes vineyard area, around fifteen kilometres south-east of Nantes on the left bank of the River Loire. The village lies between the river and the vine-covered hillsides, in a landscape shaped by viticulture, particularly Muscadet wine, and by a long-standing market-gardening tradition still visible in the fields close to the water. The Loire à Vélo cycle route runs through the commune, following the riverbanks and passing the small harbour of La Chebuette, a popular starting point for walks or cycle rides along the Loire. The surroundings remain quiet and green, combining farmland with natural areas linked to the river. The village centre offers local shops, schools and a few sports facilities, while nearby Nantes provides easy access to urban amenities, public transport and cultural attractions. This makes it a suitable base for a relaxed stay in the Loire-Atlantique countryside, combining nature, vineyards and Loire heritage, though without any major listed monument, offering instead an authentic rural setting.
