Larmor-Plage

Larmor-Plage is a seaside town in the Morbihan department, located at the entrance to the Lorient roadstead on Brittany's south coast. It is known for its fine sandy beaches, particularly Toulhars beach and Le Rohu beach, both lined by a coastal path offering views over the Île de Groix and the mouth of the River Blavet. The Kernevel marina, one of the largest in the region, welcomes numerous boats and brings life to the seafront. The town enjoys a mild oceanic climate, well suited to water-based activities such as sailing, paddleboarding and summer swimming. Larmor-Plage also serves as a convenient base for exploring Lorient, with its submarine base and fishing port, and for taking the short ferry crossing to the Île de Groix from the nearby harbour. Local markets, small shops and seafood restaurants add to the appeal for seaside stays. The overall atmosphere remains residential and family-friendly, set within an unspoilt natural landscape of beaches, dunes and pine woods typical of the Morbihan coastline.
