Gevrey chambertin

Gevrey-Chambertin is a wine-producing village in the Côte-d'Or, situated on the Route des Grands Crus in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, some fifteen kilometres south of Dijon. The commune is internationally renowned for its Pinot Noir red wines, including the grand cru vineyards of Chambertin and Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, alongside numerous premier cru plots spread across its hillsides. The village retains architectural heritage typical of Burgundy's wine country, with a remodelled medieval château and the Romanesque Saint-Aignan church. The surrounding countryside features vineyard landscapes listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the Climats de Bourgogne, ideal for walking and visiting wine estates, many of which offer tastings and cellar tours. The village serves as a convenient base for exploring the wider region: Dijon's historic centre lies a short distance away, as does Beaune, considered the capital of Burgundy wine.
