La bussiere sur ouche

La Bussière-sur-Ouche is a small village in the Côte-d'Or department of Burgundy, nestled in the Ouche valley and crossed by the Burgundy Canal. The village's most notable landmark is the former Cistercian Abbey of La Bussière, founded in the Middle Ages and now converted, surrounded by well-kept gardens overlooking a lake. The wooded, rural setting typical of the southern Côte-d'Or is well suited to walking and cycling, particularly along the canal towpath, popular for its peaceful walks past locks and green scenery. The village lies around twenty kilometres west of Dijon, making it easy to visit the former capital of the Dukes of Burgundy, with its historic centre and museums, while enjoying a quiet base to stay.
