Flavigny sur ozerain

Flavigny-sur-Ozerain is a fortified hilltop village in the Côte-d'Or, listed among the most beautiful villages of France. Encircled by medieval ramparts, it retains an authentic old town with cobbled lanes, half-timbered houses and fortified gateways dating back to the Middle Ages. The village is home to the former Saint-Pierre Abbey, whose buildings now house the workshop producing the well-known Anis de Flavigny sweets, a traditional confectionery made on site since the 19th century and open to visitors. The village also served as a filming location for the movie Chocolat, starring Juliette Binoche, which added to its tourist appeal.
