La rochepot

La Rochepot is a village in Burgundy, in the Côte-d'Or department, nestled at the foot of the wooded Trois Croix hills along the road linking Beaune and Autun. It is best known for its medieval castle, rebuilt in the 15th century and later restored in the early 20th century, easily recognised by its colourful glazed-tile roofs typical of Burgundian architecture, in the same style as the Hospices de Beaune. The village lies on the edge of the Côte de Beaune wine route, making it a popular stop for exploring the surrounding vineyards and local wine cellars. The rolling, rural surroundings are well suited to walking, with several marked trails leading up to the Trois Croix summit, offering views over the Burgundian countryside. Its proximity to Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy, also allows for cultural and food-related day trips.
