La roche vanneau

La Roche-Vanneau is a small rural village in the Côte-d'Or department, in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region, located within the canton of Vitteaux, around thirty kilometres north-west of Dijon. The village lies within the rolling landscape of the Auxois, an area known for Charolais cattle farming, hedgerowed pastures and small woodlands, offering a peaceful, green setting well suited to countryside stays. The surrounding area provides access to several points of interest in the Côte-d'Or, including Vitteaux with its medieval heritage, Semur-en-Auxois with its ramparts and collegiate church, and the archaeological site of Alésia at Alise-Sainte-Reine. The nearby Burgundy Canal is ideal for walking or cycling along its towpaths. Dijon, the former capital of the Dukes of Burgundy, is within easy reach for a day trip, boasting a listed historic centre and a renowned culinary tradition.
