Puligny montrachet

Puligny-Montrachet is a wine-producing village in the Côte-d'Or department of Burgundy, located on the Côte de Beaune between Beaune and Chalon-sur-Saône. It is internationally renowned for its white wines made from chardonnay grapes, including the grand cru vineyards of Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, regarded among the finest dry white wines in the world. The village itself is modest in size, centred around the Saint-Marcel church and narrow lanes lined with traditional limestone winegrowers' houses typical of the region. The surrounding landscape is dominated by terraced vineyards, offering classic views of Burgundy's wine country. Its proximity to Beaune, the historic capital of Burgundy wine, as well as neighbouring villages such as Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet, makes it easy to explore the Route des Grands Crus, a scenic touring route linking the region's leading wine estates.
