Meursault

Meursault is a wine village in the Côte-d'Or, in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune, lying between Beaune and Chagny. It is internationally renowned for its white wines made from Chardonnay grapes, ranking among the most sought-after in Burgundy, with several vineyard plots classified as premier cru. The village lends its name to the Paulée de Meursault, a traditional harvest festival bringing together winegrowers and wine enthusiasts each autumn. The Château de Meursault, with its historic cellars and grounds, offers tours and tastings and stands as one of the village's landmarks. The Church of Saint-Nicolas, with its glazed-tile roof typical of the region, marks the centre of the village. The surrounding countryside consists of rolling vineyards crossed by the Route des Grands Crus, popular for walking and cycling. Nearby Beaune, just a few kilometres away, provides easy access to the Hospices de Beaune and its famous wine market.
