Breteniere

Brétenière is a village in the Côte-d'Or department, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, located a few kilometres south-east of Dijon. Part of the greater Dijon area, it offers a rural setting while remaining well connected, thanks to its proximity to the A31 motorway and the main roads linking Dijon to Beaune. The surrounding landscape features the typical open farmland of the Dijon plain, well suited to walking and cycling. The village is home to INRAE, a well-known agricultural research centre, which forms part of its local identity. Its location provides quick access to central Dijon, whose historic core and Burgundy vineyard climats are listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites, as well as to the wine routes of the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. Local shops and services are limited, with daily life largely centred around nearby Dijon. Brétenière therefore makes a peaceful base for exploring the wider Dijon region, combining winemaking heritage, Burgundian gastronomy and convenient road and rail links towards Paris or Lyon.
