Quarre les tombes

Quarré-les-Tombes is a village in the Morvan region, within the Yonne department of Burgundy. Its unusual name comes from a collection of stone sarcophagi found around the Saint-Georges church, remnants of an early medieval necropolis dating back to the Merovingian or Carolingian period, making it one of the village's notable features.
