Pierre perthuis

Pierre-Perthuis is a small village in the Yonne department, in Burgundy, just a few kilometres from Vézelay and its UNESCO-listed Basilica of Saint Mary Magdalene. The village lies along the Cure river, whose wooded gorges and rolling countryside are typical of this part of the Morvan region. An old stone bridge spans the Cure here, alongside the remains of a feudal castle that recall the site's medieval past. The peaceful, unspoilt surroundings appeal to walkers, cyclists and canoe-kayak enthusiasts, with the river providing a gentle setting for water-based activities. The nearby town of Vézelay, a historic staging post on the Way of St James pilgrimage route, allows visitors to combine religious heritage with the tranquillity of the Burgundian countryside.
