Ouanne

Ouanne is a small rural village in the Yonne department, in Burgundy, set within the natural region of Puisaye-Forterre. The River Ouanne, a tributary of the Loing, runs through the area, shaping a landscape of hedgerows, ponds and woodland typical of this part of France. The village lies close to Toucy and Saint-Fargeau, the latter known for its château, making it a convenient base for exploring the local heritage sites. Puisaye-Forterre is also known for its tradition of artisan pottery, particularly around Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye, as well as for its unspoilt countryside, ideal for walking, fishing and experiencing rural Burgundian life. The climate is a modified oceanic type, with mild winters and moderately warm summers well suited to countryside stays.
