Bulcy

Bulcy is a small rural village in the Nièvre department, in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, located in the Nivernais area not far from the Loire River. Set amid rolling countryside, woodland and farmland, it offers a peaceful, unspoilt setting typical of this part of the region. The village lies close to La Charité-sur-Loire, known for its Cluniac priory, a listed historic monument, as well as the Pouilly-sur-Loire vineyards, renowned for their dry white wines. Nevers, the county town with its cathedral and ducal palace, is around twenty minutes away by car. Nature lovers can enjoy walking and cycling routes nearby, including the Loire à Vélo cycle path, which follows the river through landscapes listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The semi-continental climate brings warm summers and cool winters, making spring and summer the best seasons for outdoor stays. Bulcy therefore makes a quiet base from which to explore the vineyards and architectural heritage of the Nivernais, well away from the bustle of city life.
