Montecatini Val di Cecina

Montecatini Val di Cecina is a small village in Tuscany, in the province of Pisa, set within the valley of the Cecina river. Part of its renown stems from its mining heritage: copper deposits worked here since the Middle Ages gave their name to the major Italian chemical company Montecatini, founded in the 19th century. The village retains a typically Tuscan character, with stone houses and narrow lanes overlooking rolling hills, vineyards and olive groves.
