Avise

Avise is a small mountain municipality located in the Aosta Valley, in north-western Italy, close to the Gran Paradiso National Park. The village retains a medieval castle, the Castello di Avise, reflecting the historical heritage of this Alpine region. The surrounding landscape is characterised by mid- to high-altitude mountain terrain, with wooded slopes and peaks overlooking the valley. The Alpine climate brings cold, snowy winters, ideal for winter sports at nearby resorts, along with mild summers well suited to hiking and exploring the natural surroundings. Avise's location provides convenient access to other towns in the Aosta Valley, known for their culinary traditions, including mountain cheeses such as Fontina and local cured meats.
