Madonna di Campiglio

Madonna di Campiglio is a mountain resort in Trentino, Italy, set at around 1,550 metres above sea level between the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello-Presanella massif. Known as the 'Pearl of the Alps', it built its reputation on a fashionable past, having attracted Austro-Hungarian aristocracy from the late 19th century onwards, including Empress Sissi. In winter, the ski area forms part of the Skirama Dolomiti di Brenta network, linked to the resorts of Pinzolo, Folgarida and Marilleva, offering an extensive range of pistes for various ability levels. The Canalone Miramonti slope regularly hosts night slalom events on the Alpine Skiing World Cup circuit. The Brenta Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, dominate the surrounding scenery and draw hikers and via ferrata enthusiasts during the summer months. The pedestrianised village centre brings together shops, hotels and restaurants within an elegant setting typical of long-established Alpine resorts. The region also lends itself well to cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, set within an unspoilt natural environment at the heart of the Italian Alps.
