Pinzolo

Pinzolo is a mountain village in Trentino, located in the Val Rendena at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello-Presanella range. The village is known for the Church of San Vigilio, whose exterior façade features a Dance of Death fresco attributed to Simone Baschenis, a notable example of 16th-century popular art. Pinzolo serves as a gateway to the Val di Genova, a glacial valley home to the Nardis waterfalls and part of the Adamello Brenta Nature Park. The village is linked to the ski area shared with Madonna di Campiglio, with the Doss del Sabion cable car providing access to the slopes in winter and to hiking and mountain biking trails in summer. The surrounding landscape reflects typical Trentino scenery, with conifer forests, mountain streams and peaks rising above 3,000 metres. The local economy relies heavily on year-round mountain tourism, supported by both winter and summer activities. The climate is continental alpine, with snowy winters well suited to winter sports and mild summers ideal for high-altitude excursions.
