Castera bouzet

Castéra-Bouzet is a small rural village in the Tarn-et-Garonne department, in the Occitanie region of southwestern France, close to the Gers border, within the Lomagne area. This gently rolling countryside, characterised by hills and cultivated fields, is traditionally known for its production of white garlic, a speciality closely linked to the Lomagne region. The village itself is quiet and largely undeveloped, offering a peaceful setting typical of small hamlets and bastide villages in South West France. The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking or cycling along country lanes lined with vineyards, orchards and arable fields. Nearby medieval bastide towns such as Lectoure and Fleurance, as well as Miradoux, showcase the region's distinctive architecture, including arcaded market squares and historic covered halls. The mild, sunny climate for much of the year encourages outdoor activities and the exploration of local gastronomy, including Gascon specialities such as foie gras, melon and Armagnac brandy, produced in neighbouring areas. Castéra-Bouzet therefore makes a peaceful base from which to discover the rural heritage of the Gers and Tarn-et-Garonne countryside.
