Septfonds

Septfonds is a village in the Tarn-et-Garonne department, located in the north-eastern part of the region, on the fringes of the Quercy area, close to Caussade and Caylus. This gently rolling countryside, shaped by the limestone landscapes of the Quercy Blanc and the first foothills of the Ségala, offers a typical rural setting from south-west France, with woodlands, meadows and small farms. The village is particularly known for its industrial past linked to straw hat-making, an activity that shaped its local economy during the 19th and 20th centuries. The village centre retains a peaceful character, with stone houses and terracotta-tiled roofs typical of the region's architecture. The surrounding area is well suited to walking and exploring local heritage, with easy access to nearby medieval bastide towns such as Caylus and Castelnau-Montratier, as well as vineyards and markets across the Occitanie region. The mild, sunny climate for much of the year encourages outdoor activities and countryside walks through the surrounding farmland. Septfonds makes a quiet base from which to explore the Quercy and Tarn-et-Garonne areas, away from the busier tourist spots, within an authentic and unspoilt setting.
