Orgueil

Orgueil is a small village in the Tarn-et-Garonne department, in the Occitanie region of southern France, located a few kilometres north-east of Montauban in the Garonne valley. This rural area enjoys a mild climate with Mediterranean influences, featuring warm, dry summers and relatively gentle winters, making it well suited to spring and summer stays. The surrounding countryside, dotted with farmland, orchards and a few vineyards, reflects the traditional agricultural character of the department, known for produce such as Quercy melons and Moissac chasselas grapes grown nearby. The proximity to Montauban provides easy access to a historic town celebrated for its pink-brick old town, its squares and the Ingres-Bourdelle museum. The wider region also offers opportunities for walks along the Garonne river and for discovering the rural heritage of Tarn-et-Garonne, with its medieval bastide towns and traditional villages. Orgueil therefore makes a peaceful base from which to explore this part of Occitanie, combining countryside, local gastronomy and the architectural heritage typical of south-western France.
